No automotive genre is as sensational as supercars and luxury cars. And the immediate destruction of these cars will trigger a whole range of human emotions, from disgust to joy. Why do exotic luxury car drivers seem to lose control so often and cause untold damage to private property and sometimes to human life?

It is often seen that people driving these high-end cars often feel that they are superstars too. The feeling is that the cars make the drivers feel invincible. As long as the driver is in control of the vehicle and drives at a reasonable speed without taking risks on the road, there will be no crashes.

However, it has been seen at times that cars with autopilot seem to crash into stationary objects or barriers. The natural reaction to these incidents is to assume that there must be something seriously wrong with the Autopilot system. After all, you might expect avoiding collisions with large stationary objects like fire trucks and concrete lane dividers to be one of the most basic functions of a car’s automatic emergency braking technology. But while there’s clearly room for improvement, the reality is that the behaviour of driver assistance technologies here isn’t much different from competing systems from other automakers. As surprising as it may seem, most roadside assistance systems today are simply not designed to prevent a collision in such a situation. Most adaptive cruise controls ignore stationary objects.

In countries like India, where the autopilot cars may not be much in use, we can see that the other premium and high-end cars have also been seen to crash into dividers. With the kind of power and speed these cars command, any minor mistake from the driver can prove to be a costly affair. While driving at night, high beams are a great distraction. The speeding cars cannot be controlled when they encounter a divider. This is especially true when driving on curved roads.

In short, whatever the vehicle, it is the prudence of the driver that makes it safe. While a lot of care is taken to ensure the safety of the passenger, there is a lot at stake if safety is not a priority in the mind of the person driving the vehicle.Hype has the largest collection of high-end niche cars with safety features and speed controls that ensure undue speeding does not happen.
