There is a wealth story emerging from Seoul that the global luxury industry is only beginning to understand, and its distinctiveness lies in how recently it was built.

Korea’s UHNW class is, in significant measure, a creation of the last twenty-five years. The country’s industrial dynasties remain, but the new wealth — the technology founders, the entertainment moguls, the cosmetics empires, the gaming billionaires, the K-culture exporters — represents one of the most concentrated generations of fresh wealth creation anywhere in Asia. Unlike Japan’s careful inheritances or Hong Kong’s deep family-office traditions, much of Seoul’s UHNW culture is being authored in real time by its first owners.
