Gone were the days when the only icons we looked up to were actors or actresses. While Bollywood still dominates our Instagram feeds, 21st century urban Indians are more likely to get inspired by, and at times, obsessed with real-life champions as opposed to the reel life ones!
Digital natives today are more intrigued by the lives of India’s millionaires, influencers, digital professionals, CXOs, and the like. From questions like “What podcasts do they listen to, what personal growth book do they recommend, what is their favourite coffee spot in the city” to questions like “what apps do they use ,what’s their dream car and where would they like to drive it”, we want to know what interests the most brilliant minds in India.
Raghav Belavadi, ace entrepreneur and the founder of Hype, India’s largest luxury mobility start-up, felt that there’s so much that India’s youngest, most accomplished founders would have to say, that went beyond just business, funding or investing. In millennial lingo, these founders would probably have a lot of ‘tea to spill’ and ‘truth bombs to drop’. With an aim to reveal the fun side to these individuals, Raghav decided to launch ‘Date on Wheels’.
A Ride To Remember
If you’ve been crushing over Carpool Karaoke by James Corden, you’re in for a treat. In Date on Wheels, Raghav takes celebrities on a fun ride around the city. Cherished playlists are shared, embarrassing encounters are divulged as they chat, sing and dance across the city.
While all of this sounds incredibly appealing, this is not why Date on Wheels is irresistible. On the show, you see these people that inspire you, but you see an unfiltered version of them. As they talk about the that crass song on their playlist that they’re embarrassed about, as they name their guilty pleasure and that one show they binge-watch all the time, they silently remind you that at the end of the day, they are just like us.
They are people with dreams, aspirations but they are also humans with weaknesses and flaws. Yet, if they can make the most of their lives and fulfill their dreams, there’s nothing stopping you from becoming the next big thing. Earlier, these people inspired you through their professional achievements, but in Date on Wheels, they take that a step further. Don’t be surprised if you feel serenaded at the end of each episode!
Today’s dating world is insanely convoluted. But with ‘Date on Wheels’, Raghav insists on full commitment and lots of fun. We follow a ‘No Ghosting’ policy, you are allowed to overshare and nothing is off-limits. If you feel like this is one date you must watch, check the trailer here.
A warning though, this might convert even the most staunch commitment-phobics!
