For automobile enthusiasts, cars are like superheroes. We dream of them, stick pictures of our favorite cars in our rooms and our phone wallpaper is mostly of that one car we wish to own someday. While public transport and mobility apps have made it easier to commute, our dream cars are more than just a means of transport for us.
Most of us have some kind of story related to our dream car. It may be a funny childhood tale or a personal anecdote or it may just be that one thing we wish for ourselves in the future. Being able to drive your dream car is like meeting your favorite actor, landing in that dream destination, or eating at that Michelin star restaurant you always wanted to try.

Here are 2 Hype employees spilling the beans and telling us what their dream car is:
Nidhi Walia Rao:
Since Nidhi is quite a Bollywood junkie, she loves convertible cars. She feels they are equal parts sporty and classy. Driving a convertible on a highway on a sunny, slightly breezy day with good music and good company is Nidhi’s idea of a good time.
She says, “I feel it’s the Bollywood movie charm of some iconic songs shot in convertibles. I remember our classic movie Jewel Thief showcasing a vintage 1955 Chevrolet Bel to one of my favorite movies Dil Chatha hai showcasing Mercedes Benz 300.
As for my favorite car, it’s hard to pick one I am very fond of the convertible Porsche 911 Carerra. I had the opportunity to drive Porsche 911 Carerra in Switzerland. The road trip was amazing, thoroughly enjoyed the Alps mountain and breath-taking views. I drove along the Zurich lake leading to a small beautiful town called Rappersville. If I again get an opportunity to drive a convertible, I would like to drive in the Tuscan countryside in Italy. It would be a great leisurely drive enjoying the wonderful wineries, eateries, and splendid views. “
Subrahmanya SM:
Subrahmanya is a lover of all things vintage and the same goes for his car choices too. He loves luxury cars that combine a vintage look and feel with modern technology. His dream car is the Mini Cooper.
“There are few small luxury cars in the market that are known for impeccable design, but Mini Cooper is one of the few,” he says. “I like the Mini cooper’s combination of luxury and compactness with a little bit of a vintage feel. I first saw the car in my childhood. Back then, we used to call it the ‘Mr. Bean car’ instead of Mini Cooper since the Mr. Bean series has done wonders using the Vintage Mini Cooper.”
Since it is his favorite car, he also collects interesting trivia about it which he happily shared.
“It was originally owned by the Rover Group until BMW bought it. The original Mini Cooper had sliding windows. The design was loved so much so that the overall design made no major changes for forty-one years!”
“If I get the opportunity to drive the Mini Cooper, I would definitely drive through the valleys of Madikeri.”
